The benefits of membership include a subscription to the Society journal, periodic mailings related to the administrative and scientific affairs of the Society, a Membership Directory, reduced registration fees for international meetings, and a vote on Society business.

The Waterbird Society encourages anyone interested in the biology and conservation of waterbirds and their habitats to join and participate in the Society’s numerous activities. The Society welcomes student members, encourages students to attend meetings, and seeks student involvement on committees and at the annual business meeting.

The Waterbird Society operates mostly on annual membership dues. Over the years, we have gradually built up our endowment to provide a buffer against financial surprises. The endowment funds are invested in the stock market but the fund is insufficient to begin drawing on the interest. Please contact the Treasurer if you would like to contribute to the Endowment Fund.
